Free Footwear

In April I purchased a pair of shoes from a large department store chain whose name begins with 'S' and rhymes with 'ears'. They were great shoes. They were comfortable, had good support, were on sale, and were a great addition to my wardrobe. After about 3.5 months there was a huge, deep crack across the sole. I took them back and was given store credit, since I was just outside the return window of 90 days. They had another pair of the same shoes, this time on even further sale, so I bought them. Right on schedule - about 3.5 months later - the same failure happened, this time on my left foot. I took them back and again got store credit. Unfortunately they didn't have any more stock on that item, so I couldn't keep up my 'shoe borrowing'. Seven months of free footwear! Makes me wonder why I buy high quality things.

I bought another pair of shoes last week. These were a lot more expensive and were from a reputable shoe store. My feet are in heaven. I don't think I'll be getting any money back for these.
